The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ moves back to the strong face mask recommendation

The use of masks is still considered necessary due to a high occurrence of COVID-19. The aim of the use of masks is to protect all participants of JYU activities, their close ones, and especially the members of risk groups, from coronavirus infections. The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and health authorities still recommend to use face masks.
Please use a face mask when moving in places where there are many other people. Face masks are available in all University buildings. The University recommends you to use a mask especially in public indoor spaces where there are many people close to each other. Please pay special attention to the recommendation if you have not received a full vaccination series.
Employees, and students who participate in practical training, can still be required to use face masks in situations in which their health and safety cannot be otherwise guaranteed. The use of face masks may be required for example in laboratory work and practical teaching in which close physical distances are necessary.
The requirement does not apply to persons for whom the Finnish Institute for Health and Safety (THL) does not recommend using a mask. According to THL, a face mask should not be used if it makes breathing unreasonably difficult or if other health-related issues prevent using a mask. Health reasons are confidential information and need not be explained in more detail between the persons involved.
