The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ begins piloting a national cross-studies service during autumn 2023
Students enrol to courses in their own institution’s student information system (Sisu, Peppi), receive a study right, and their completed course credits will be automatically transferred to their home university without a need to request its inclusion.
The cross-studies service pilot begins in autumn 2023 in cooperation with South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) network for culture studies. The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ will also take part in other pilot projects should resources and schedules allow. Technical testing for the service is done in cooperation with XAMK, JAMK and other Sisu universities.
Instructions on how to join a network to the national service, as well as the effects of cross-studies on curriculum planning, students’ study plans, completing cross-studies and assessing courses in cross-study universities will be expanded during spring and summer 2023. More information on the pilot project as well as broader implementation will be provided as the project advances.
The aim of implementing a national cross-studies service is to make it easier for students to browse and locate cross-study opportunities and ease the course registration process. Additionally, the service simplifies administrative processes as they become digitalised. The implementation project runs from 11/2022 to 12/2023, during which the services is piloted and both operational and technical instructions for adminsitrative staff, students and teachers are created. The wider implementation of the service is aimed to start in 2024 and beyond, depending on the schedules of each cross-studies network.
