The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ and Unifund cooperate with Butterfly Ventures and Sparkmind.vc

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (JYU) and its investment company Unifund Oy have been building a cooperation network of venture capital (VC) companies. The University has signed agreements with two major international VC companies.

Based on the signed agreement, Butterfly Ventures, the University and Unifund promote university-based teams’ and enterprises’ development and financial maturity at different stages of growth.

It invests in enterprises whose innovations help enhance learning at all education levels as well as lifelong learning. Sparkmind.vc’s expertise, experience and networks as well as the pedagogical research of JYU provide excellent support to the development of university-based companies.

JYU and its investment company Unifund seek to create favourable conditions for the development and growth of business based on the University’s research and expertise. The investment activity aims to support the commercialisation of JYU-based innovations.

Typically, the biggest challenge for start-up companies is the lack of business expertise and also of funds needed for growth. Venture capital companies can respond to this challenge and have remarkable networks besides their own resources. JYU and Unifund have broadened the cooperation network of venture capital companies.
