The Summer School program consists of lectures and discussions of individual papers and more general themes.

ECTS credits and participation fee

The participants will receive 3 ECTS credits for completing the Summer School. Each participant will receive a certificate for participation.

The Summer School has a participation fee of 70 EUR. We are unfortunately not able to provide any assistance for travel or accommodation costs. Lunches, coffee breaks and dinners/evening program are included in the participation fee. More information on the social program will be available later.

Accommodation and travelling to Jyväskylä

is situated right next to the beautiful and summery lake view of Jyväsjärvi, Mattilanniemi campus and park area. Alvar Aalto museum, Jyväskylä university and the Jyväskylä city center are within walking distance from the hotel. We have pre-reserved rooms for the Summer School participants.

is situated in the town center right next to Jyväskylä's railway/ bus station. The hotel has been recently renovated, and there are excellent restaurants in the same building.

Jyväskylä has a wide range of other hotels to choose from, from hostels offering budget accommodation to cozy boutique hotels and a number of well-furbished quality hotels. The hotel room rates in Finland are reasonable, and the rates include taxes, a buffet breakfast, free WIFI and often also the opportunity to use the guest sauna. Some local hotels/hostels in Jyväskylä include:

• (next to Seminaarinmäki campus area and close to Historica-building) 
• (in the middle of Kauppakatu with all services close to the doorstep)
• (close to the railway/bus station)

Getting from the airport to the city center

If you are flying to Jyväskylä Airport in Tikkakoski, note that there is no public bus transportation from the airport to the city centre, and taxi is available by pre-booking only. To arrange an airport pick up by taxi, please call in advance Jyväskylä area taxi service , tel. (+358) 0100 6900. The taxi from Tikkakoski airport to the city centre costs about 50 euro.

Getting to Jyväskylä from Helsinki airport

It is a good and often more affordable choice to fly to Helsinki and take a train to Jyväskylä straight from the airport. The train ride takes about 3,5 hours. The sooner you book, the cheaper you will get the tickets. The train station is located right next to the town center. You can find more information from and .
