THE ranking: JYU’s education at the top of the world, social sciences keeps its position, economics rises
Last year JYU’s position was 95. Also the University of Helsinki was among the best. The leading positions were held by Stanford and Harvard.
As in the previous year, JYU’s social sciences were ranked 201–250 among 720 universities.
JYU’s ranking in Business & Economics raised from 2018. This time it was 251–300, last year 301–400. The list of business and economics included 632 universities.
The assessment of education included world’s leading universities in the field of education and teacher training. In social sciences, the ranking assessed communication and media studies subjects, political and international studies, sociology and geography.
The rankings by subject focus on teaching, research and citations. In addition, external funding, international outlook and international reputation of research were assessed.
