The IAEVG International Conference 2024 awarded Honorable Mention in the Jyväskylä Event and Congress Awards 2024

, organised by the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance, was awarded Honorable Mention as a recognition of a successful and impactful international event. The conference was held in Jyväskylä 12-14 November 2024 and it brought together 401 participants from 45 different countries, along with 320 remote participants from around the world. The event was organised by the Finnish Institute for Educational Research in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
The theme of the conference was "Riding the Wave of Change", reflecting key issues in the field of guidance in the rapidly changing world. The event offered participants a diverse program featuring presentations, workshops, symposia, and discussions. Topics included accessible and user-oriented guidance services, digital development, as well as diversity and inclusion in guidance services.
According to the IAEVG President, Research Professor Jaana Kettunen, also in charge of organising the conference, one of the key objectives was to provide participants with opportunities for genuine interaction, sharing, and the creation of new partnerships. This was reflected not only in the program but also in the atmosphere of the event itself.
According to Kettunen, the conference was a success above all thanks to strong collaborations, the team spirit of the organising team and the commitment of all involved parties. She gave special thanks to the Finnish Institute for Educational Research and its the Lifelong Guidance Research Group. She also extended her warmest thank-yous to the speakers, participants and volunteers whose contributions made the event truly special.
