The City of Jyväskylä appoints the first working groups to assess the possible sale of Jamk University of Applied Sciences

The preparation consists of two parts: the expansion of the ownership base and valuation, and the planning of cooperation between the higher education institutions. The planning of cooperation deals with, among other things, consortium steering, cooperation in education, research and RDI activities, and the use and development of infrastructures. In addition, the possibilities for cooperation between services will be explored. More detailed planning of the content will proceed after possibly proceeding to the sale and the shareholders' agreement.
In the city's decision-making, possible changes in ownership arrangements will be discussed in the coming autumn. Any changes in the share capital are decided by the City Council.   
The City of Jyväskylä proposes that Rector of Jamk University of Applied Sciences Vesa Saarikoski and Rector of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ Jari Ojala and Mayor Timo Koivisto be full members of the steering group leading the preparations. The City proposes that the City's Chief Financial Officer Vesa Voutilainen, General Counsel Anna Vuorela and Director of Communications Emmi Hyvönen be permanent expert members of the steering group. In the nomination request, the city also asks the university and the university of applied sciences to propose expert members to the steering group.
