Finlandia Marathon events:
Finlandia Vitonen 5 km
Finlandia Vitonen is the shortest distance at the Finlandia Marathon. The most important thing is that participants move at their own pace, whether it’s a speedy sprint or a leisurely walk. The route also offers a great introduction to physical activity. Finlandia Vitonen will take place on Friday, September 13 at 6:00 PM.
Valon Kymppi 10 km
Valon Kymppi offers a unique running experience with its late start time on an autumn evening, where the darkening sky and the glow of city lights create a magical atmosphere along Rantaraitti. This 10 km route is the perfect challenge for anyone looking to experience something special. Runners and spectators alike can enjoy a diverse range of music as well as stunning light effects set up at the event center and along the route. The route runs along the beautiful Rantaraitti, with two loops from Lutakonaukio to the western end of Lake Jyväsjärvi and back via Ylistönsilta Bridge. Valon Kymppi will be run on Friday, September 13 at 8:00 PM.
Marathon Relay 4–8 x 5 km
The Marathon Relay is a communal athletic experience and is well-suited, for example, for groups of students. The relay is run in 5 km segments, and a team can consist of 4–8 runners. The team can decide how many segments each runner will complete. The Marathon Relay will be held on Friday, September 13 at 5:30 PM.
Marathon 42 km
The flat and scenic Jyväskylä Rantaraitti is an excellent route for those running their first full marathon. The fast and minimally winding route also allows experienced marathoners to improve their personal records. This year, the Finnish Athletics Federation and the Finnish Masters Athletics Association championships will also be decided during the marathon. The marathon will be run on Saturday, September 14 at 12:00 PM.
Half Marathon 21 km
A half marathon is a tough goal, but not impossible for anyone who exercises regularly. The pre-race warm-up with 2,000 participants and the start will give you the feeling of a major event. The start schedule and route for the marathon and half marathon ensure that there will be plenty of company and pacing support for everyone. The half marathon will be run on Saturday, September 14 at 3:15 PM.
