The new version includes the following usability improvements particularly requested by JYU:

  • More details regarding attainments visible to students.
  • Possibility for registering personalised assessment item credits – e.g. in case of individual resittings without an implementation.
  • The study group selections of registered students can be edited even if the student is in the “Requirements not fulfilled” or “Rejected” categories.
  • An implementation’s “Registered students” list shows the registered student’s degree programme (degree students) or study module (non-degree students).
  • Curriculum periods are listed from newest to oldest in the drop-down menus.
  • The student interface includes a new tab with an accessible tool for registration and monitoring registrations. This new tool can be used alongside registering through the calendar, as well as for re-registering/resitting for Open University studies. Instructions for use of this new tab will be published over the summer.

Other examples of new or improved features:

  • Due to data protection and preventing discrimination, students’ former names and personal identity codes, date of birth, mother tongue, nationality and gender will be moved out of the student’s basic information. Viewing this information requires broader user rights.
  • Maximum quotas for implementations (a maximum of n students of a certain quota will be accepted onto the implementation)
  • Development of cross-study functionalities
  • Development of open university functionalities
  • Necessary functionalities for universites of applied sciences
