We have tried to use as much as possible the existing, anonymous, information provided by the different systems such as facility reservation system KOVS. To supplement this, information is also collected in a number of ways, including:
- Operational mapping interviews with faculties, University Services, and independent institutes. We have invited people from each department to participate in an interview to gather an up-to-date perspective on changes in the departments’ activities and future needs for facilities and cooperation.
- Monitoring the occupancy of teaching facilities. We have been seeking to establish how well existing teaching facilities are meeting the needs. We are identifying, for example, how full the classrooms are and whether suitable classroom sizes have been found for the groups. Teachers have been asked to track the number of participants in the course’s teaching sessions during the fourth period.
- Measuring the occupancy of workspaces. In the era of hybrid work, we are trying to find out how well the current working spaces meet the needs of the work. The aim is to determine the appropriateness of the university’s facilities and the adequacy of different types of space. We have tried to use as much as possible the existing, anonymous information provided by the different systems. To supplement this information, a small-scale observation of the workspaces is carried out in April/May and the aim is to continue the work on a larger scale in the autumn.
- Survey. During the spring we will conduct a survey of all users of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥â€™s facilities. We will inform you more about the survey during May.
The project group will work on and analyse the data concerning the facilities and the results will be communicated regularly as the project progresses. We hope that the university community will actively participate in the development of our shared facilities!
