One student at the Department of Language and Communication Studies diagnosed with COVID-19
One student from the Department of Language and Communication Studies at JYU has been diagnosed to have a COVID-19 infection. The student has been informed of the infection on Saturday, 27 February.

The student has participated in a contact teaching course, on which JYU’s coronavirus policies and related safety instructions have been followed carefully. Therefore, the possibility of further infections is very small. All students and teachers on the course have been informed.
Teaching on the course will continue as distance learning until further notice. Otherwise, the department’s operations continue normally, following the coronavirus safety instructions. Read more about university’s coronavirus instructions.
Summary of the university’s safety instructions during the epidemic:
- Ensure that it is known if you operate on the campus. This helps the tracing of possible infection chains.
- The university recommends staff and students to install the voluntary Koronavilkku app.
- If you suspect to have a coronavirus infection, make the test at and follow the instructions.
