Nanoscientists meet in Jyväskylä

The Nanoscience Center of the Ģֱ, Finland, hosts again the annual Nanoscience Days conference on 8th – 9th of October 2024 in Jyväskylä. The traditional event provides an interdisciplinary forum where top international nanoscience researchers from the fields of biology, chemistry and physics will present their research results. This year’s conference brings together about 135 nanoscientist and also raises the young scientists in the spotlight.

The Nanoscience Days is now organized for the 20th time. Nanoscience Days provide a unique interdisciplinary environment to meet a wide range of experts from different fields of nanoscience, to be inspired and to generate new research ideas.  

The year 2024 is the 20th anniversary of Nanoscience Center as well as the 20th Nanoscience Days. This years honorary speakers include current Nobel Prize winner Morten Mendal (University of Copenhagen, Denmark). There are also other confirmed invited speakers: Harry Andersson (University of Oxford, United Kingdom), Molly Stevens(Imperial College London, United Kingdom), SandrineBourdoulous(CNRS, France), Päivi Törmä (Aalto University), Jukka Pekola (Aalto University), Jens Bosse (Hannover Medical School, Germany) ja Johann Peter Reithmaier (University of Kassel, Germany). 

A total of 135 participants have registered for the event, most of them from Finland. The event provides an opportunity for students and young researchers in the field to network and present their work. 

The Nanoscience Centre (NSC) at the Ģֱ is the largest interdisciplinary research centre in Finland, employing more than 140 researchers from the fields of biology, chemistry and physics.
