JYU offers courses and guidance to students fleeing the war in Ukraine

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ provides studies and guidance to students fleeing the war in Ukraine. It supports students who have had to flee Ukraine due to the Russian invasion by offering a chance to apply for separate studies and Open University studies free of charge.
Students who are granted temporary protection in Finland can apply for the study right for studies offered at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥. Studies are offered to university students, upper secondary school students and adult students who have already completed their studies in Ukraine.
You can apply for the study right for studies offered by faculties or the Open University. You can study one or more courses at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥. The fields of study are educational sciences and psychology, social sciences, humanities, physical education and health sciences, information technology, economics as well as mathematics and natural sciences.
Some of the courses are offered in English, but most of them are in Finnish, which is why studying extensively in English can be challenging.
Please note that the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ does not offer studies in the fields of medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, nursing, technical sciences, law or theology.
Support in planning and starting your studies
When planning your studies, it is recommended to first contact directly the study planning and counselling staff in your own faculty or, in university-level issues, SIMHE (Supporting Immigrants in Higher Education in Finland).
