Internationalisation possibilities for JYU students

As a JYU degree student, you can get versatile internationalization experience and academic content to your degree, thanks to the collaboration between nine . As a general rule, the activities and mobilities within FORTHEM can be recognized in your Bachelor's or Master's degree as ECTS credits.
Student exchange
Thanks to the close contacts between alliance universities, it is easy to plan your Erasmus+ student exchange to one of the FORTHEM universities. There are a lot of student experiences available, and it is easy to ask for more information about the study possibilities.
Short term mobilities, summer schools
FORTHEM universities or their stakeholders organise one-week intensive courses, FORTHEM Short Term Mobilities, where the participants are selected among these nine universities. Students will receive a travel grant. The application period for the short term mobilities is organised once a year, in the beginning of the calendar year. In addition, it is possible to receive travel grant for an individual visit to one of the FORTHEM partner universities, to work on the Master's thesis for example. There are also summer schools is various fields, and there is a separate application period for these.
Internship placements
It is possible to find an international internship placement within the FORTHEM network. Universities, schools, NGO's or other organisations can offer internship placements for the students of the FORTHEM Alliance, and the interns will receive a travel grant. It is also possible to include the internship to the JYU degree.
Student projects, civic engagement
Thanks to the FORTHEM Alliance cooperation, there are many possibilities to familiarize yourself with international project management, project work and civic engagement.
Virtual courses
It is possible to choose online courses from other FORTHEM universities through our Digital Academy platform. You can sign in to the Digital Academy via your own JYU Moodle platform.
Buddy Programme
FORTHEM Buddy Programme is especially targeted for first-year students, to get to know other first-year students in FORTHEM universities and to network. This is a great way to learn to know people, refresh your language skills and to expand your networks.
Student Council
FORTHEM Student Council is an official body in the FORTHEM Alliance governance structure, to ensure student involvement and student voice in the Alliance decision-making. There are two members from each FORTHEM partner universities. The Student Union of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (JYY) makes the selection of the FORTHEM Student Council members every year in October-November.
