Teams of three apply and get matched with a real research group on the verge of spinning off. Each research group works with three teams, all tackling the same commercialization challenge. The competition kicks off with a 22-hour hackathon-style qualification round from Friday to Saturday, where teams battle to prove their strategy is the best. A jury of investors and research group representatives selects one winner per challenge—16 teams move on to the finals.

How it works:
On 9-10.5. student teams compete in a hackathon format to solve commercialization challenges of real research groups looking to establish a startup. The winning teams (16 finalist teams) qualify to the finals on 21.5. to compete for the grand prize in a head-to-head knockout tournament showdown.
