Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ is a partner in a European University Network alliance called FORTHEM. Our six partner universities are located in Riga, Opole, Mainz, Dijon, Palermo and Valencia. For our students, this brings new possibilities for gaining international experience and to create their own international networks.

Erasmus+ student exchange

In January 2021, the seven FORTHEM universities signed a multidisciplinary Erasmus+ student exchange agreement. Students from all JYU faculties can apply for student exchange in the framework of this new agreement. The agreement is valid starting from the academic year 2021-2022, and the placements will be open for applications in Mobility Online system in April 2021.

Short Term Mobility

FORTHEM Short Term Mobilities are 5-day intensive programmes organised in our partner universities. Students are invited to apply to these programmes accorning to their interests. A travel grant will be given to the selected students, and the accommodation and meals are covered. The next application round for FORTHEM Short Term Mobilities will be opened on 15.3.2021.

Internships

Internship placements are offered for the students of FORTHEM universities, in the universities and in the companies and organisations operating in the neighborhood of the university. The applications are welcomed constantly, and the list of available internships is updated as soon as new placements become available.

Civic Engagement Projects

A group of students, from minimum of three FORTHEM universities, have the possibility to create their own projects. There are ready proposals for these Civic Engagement Projects from different organisations, but students can also contact the partner organization themselves and propose a project. There is FORTHEM funding available for these projects, and the participating student groups will be supported with a course on project management. The call for applications is open until 15 project have been selected for funding.

FORTHEM Labs

In the FORTHEM Labs, university researchers and students work closely together with the surrounding societies, to find research-based solutions to timely challenges, in an international context. There are seven different themes in the Labs, and students are welcome to join according to their own interests, for example related to their Master’s thesis topic.

Digital Academy

From September 2021 onwards, FORTHEM Digital Academy will offer students a possibility to choose online courses from other FORTHEM universities. More information about Digital Academy will be available during spring and summer 2021.
