FORTHEM Cultural Heritage Lab Lecture Series: New approaches to the study of heritage

FORTHEM Cultural heritage lecture series is a great opportunity for students, researchers and teachers to hear what kind of projects are currently taking place in other FORTHEM universities as well as to get familiar with the latest developments from the multidisciplinary field of heritage studies.

Lectures cover topics such as international and local heritage institutions; heritage, memories and identities; community participation in heritage; societal change and re-interpretations of heritage; new methodological openings social sciences and humanities; and archaeological approaches to heritage and sustainability.

The lecture series consists of eleven lectures that are given via zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays 15.15–16.45 (CET)/16.15–17.45 (EET) from October 15th, 2024, to November 19th, 2024. Please note your time zone! You can choose and listen either individual lectures or the whole series.

NOTE! JYU students can get 5 ECTS for the lecture series (includes assignments) by enrolling on the course TAIS601 Laitoksen yhteistä opetusta in Sisu. You can also participate in selected lectures and earn credits through the lecture passport. 

Students from other  FORTHEM universities can also gain credits from participating, however, the practicalities and opportunities vary between universities.
