Fennicum available for studying also on weekends from 7 February

Fennicum Building on the Seminaarinmäki campus is opened for studying also on weekends from 7 February. To enter the building on weekends, you need an access card.

The Fennicum facilities will be available to JYU students Mon–Fri 7:30–20:00 and on weekends 8:00–18:00. The access cards are available at the Student Union (JYY) office. Fennicum offers students a large number of computers, various workspaces and groupwork desks as well as a kitchen for breaks.

Access cards

Access cards can be obtained from the Student Union office in Ilokivi since Monday, 3 February during the office’s opening hours (Mon–Thu 12–16, Fri 12–15). The access card is for personal use, and a fee of €20 will be charged for a lost card.
The access card holder is accountable for any persons he/she lets in the building. It is forbidden to wedge the entrance doors open in any situation.

On weekdays, there is a janitor around, to whom any problems related to the building should be reported. Janitors can be contacted:

In urgent problem situations on weekdays, proceed as follows:

  • problems related to the building (e.g. water damage, a clogged sewer): notify the facility maintenance helpdesk 020 530 5700
  • safety-related problems (e.g. disruptive behaviour in the facilities, fire): call the emergency number 112
