Gaming cooperative Expa's project to establish Finland's first Unreal Engine training center in Jyväskylä will develop local expertise and promote innovation in interactive technology nationwide. FORTHEM Startup Day will offer more discussions on new game technology openings in October.

The FORTHEM Startup Day on October 24, 14-16 invites students, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts to the Digi & Game Center in Jyväskylä to explore the new opportunities in gaming technology presented by Epic Games and Expa. The entrepreneurship event will showcase how gaming technology and the groundbreaking Unreal Engine platform are changing the way people do things - also beyond the gaming industry. Epic Games, known worldwide for the success of Fortnite, is developing its Unreal Engine as a versatile tool for creating real-time 3D environments. Multiple industries are taking advantage of the new immersive experiences the platform enables, and the technology can be seen in fields such as film, architecture, education, and healthcare.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the opportunity to learn about the efforts of the gaming cooperative Expa to establish the first Authorized Unreal Training Center in Finland, and at the same time, the northernmost in the world, in Jyväskylä in close cooperation with the film studio FireFrame Studios and Epic Games. The goal of the project is to provide Unreal Engine training and expertise that will develop local expertise and foster innovation in interactive technology. Expa's Daniel Imbert will share his views on bringing world-class virtual expertise to Jyväskylä.

Participants will also hear from Ari Arnbjörnsson, Senior Software Developer at Epic Games, about the versatile applications of the Unreal Engine. The afternoon will be hosted by Wanda O Rly.

The hybrid event, which will feature expert speakers and pitches from early-stage companies, is free to attend and will be conducted in English. Focusing on new opportunities in gaming technology, the October FORTHEM Startup Day is a great opportunity for students and companies to network and learn from leaders in the technology and gaming industries. The event will take place in the afternoon from 14:00 at Zoom and Digi & Game Center in Jyväskylä, Matarankatu 2, and is aimed at anyone interested in the future of interactive technology. FORTHEM Startup Day is a bi-annual entrepreneurial event that brings together early-stage entrepreneurs, innovators, students, and researchers.
