Could AI help in creating new kinds of educational environments?

JYUOpen is part of a new European-wide project focused on developing the role of generative AI in higher education.

The new project is called ADMIT (generative Ai anD large language Models In higher educaTion) and its goal is to integrate advanced AI and large language models (LLM) into higher education, in order to enhance the learning and teaching experience.

ADMIT will develop a comprehensive LLM-ed framework and guidelines, focusing on integrating AI responsibly in learning design, benefiting students, educators, and institutional leaders alike. They will stay updated with the latest in AI research and innovation, formulating ethical guidelines, and designing professional development modules for staff across Europe. 

The consortium is led by EADTU (European Association of Distance Teaching Universities) and is composed of: UNED; Universitat Oberta de Catalunya; FernUniversität in Hagen; Open Universiteit; Open University of Cyprus: Uninettuno; JYUOpen; Hellenic Open University; Anadolu University; The Open University (UK); and UniDistance Suisse. 

Further, ADMIT is supported by the following Associated Partners: Stifterverband Fur Die Deutsche Wissenschaft; University of Pisa; Dublin City University; KU Leuven.

The project is funded by the European Commission, and it is set to run 1 Jan 2024 through 31 Dec 2026.
