Each individual’s actions and personal choices are crucial for controlling the epidemic situation. Please minimise the risk of spreading the virus. This way we will be able to ensure the continuity of university operations on the campus as well as possible. The university recommends staff and students to download the voluntary Koronavilkku app.
Please find below excerpts from the instructions. Read the full instructions here.
- When it is not possible to keep a safe distance, the teacher will provide masks at the beginning of the session.
- The teacher responsible for the course/study unit and the teaching session ensures that general safety regulations are followed. The teacher also defines questions related to distance learning and contact learning, presence and optional modes of completion, using the learning outcomes and the principles of the curriculum as the starting point. If students have questions about participating in teaching (illness, quarantine, etc.) or possible optional modes of completion, they can contact the teacher of the study unit, the education coordinator of the subject or the personal study plan supervisor.
- JYU recommends the university community to follow principles that promote safety also in free time. For example, it is recommended to organise subject associations’ events in small groups by paying attention to safe distances. All events, in which groups of people gather so that is it not possible to maintain physical distancing, entail a risk of spreading the virus.
- The authority regulations valid at the time will be applied to all degree students arriving to Finland, with the addition that all international degree students arriving from abroad are requested to stay in quarantine for 14 days from the arrival. The arrival in Finland follows the regulations of the authorities of the source country and Finnish authorities. The receiving unit, in cooperation with Student and Academic Services, will take care of that the JYU instructions and practices have been introduced to the student.
Safety on the campus:
- Come to campus only when you are healthy
- Remember to wash hands and keep safe distances!
- Use a mask if it is not possible to keep a safe distance when working for a longer time (over 15 minutes)
- The university will acquire protective masks and visors in a centralised manner and the equipment will be distributed for use based on the need. The protective equipment will be delivered in a centralised manner to units, one month’s demand at a time
- When it is not possible to keep a safe distance, the teacher will provide masks at the beginning of the session.
- JYU will follow the infection situation and specify instructions on the use of protective masks when necessary.
- JYU recommends voluntary quarantine for all JYU students who arrive from abroad to Finland. Unnecessary contacts and entering the campus must be avoided during the quarantine.
-
Always follow the valid regulations of Finnish authorities.
