The use of the premises is regulated by the Regional State Administrative Agency, and JYU will inform immediately about any changes in the situation. Based on the policy of the Government, the facilities will be closed until 13 April 2020, but the staff and students should be prepared to that the current operating principles and limitations will be valid until the end of the spring term.

The Ģֱ got prepared for actions to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus by deciding on 14 March to stop all contact teaching and immediately move to distance teaching. JYU has closed all common study facilities and computer classes. In accordance with preparations started on 16 March, only key activities critical for the operation of the University will take place in JYU premises. The staff will continue to work via online connections.

To ensure safety, all physical contacts should be strictly avoided.

Next week we will organize an info session for which you can send questions to corona.information@jyu.fi (write “Question for student info” in the title field). Questions will be answered by Vice Rector Marja-Leena Laakso.
