The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s Master’s Degree Programmes in English are available to both Finnish and foreign applicants. To apply, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master's degree (or equivalent degree) from a recognised institution of higher education. In addition, applicants must prove their English skills according to the programme's admission criteria.

The most popular English-taught Master’s Degree Programmes at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ have previously been in the fields of business and economics, and education. In addition, international Master's programmes are offered in natural sciences, sport sciences, information technology, and humanities and social sciences.

Apply for a scholarship for your Master's degree studies

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ has more than 1,000 international students each year, about half of whom study in English-taught Master's programmes and the rest in doctoral programmes or as exchange students. Students who are not citizens of EU/EEA countries or Switzerland are liable to pay tuition fees in English-taught Master's programmes.

For students who are liable to pay tuition fees, JYU offers the possibility to apply for scholarships to cover the costs of tuition fees. Each Master's programme also offers one Finland Scholarship, which includes a 100% tuition fee scholarship and a one-off living allowance of €5,000.

Begin your studies in Autumn 2022

Applications for JYU's international Master's programmes are accepted in the joint application period at Opintopolku.fi/Studyinfo.fi. The application closes on 19 January 2022 at 15:00 Finnish time (EET / Helsinki time). If your application is successful, your studies will start in August-September 2022.

The application process for the Radiation and its Effects on MicroElectronics and Photonics Technologies (RADMEP) programme is different from other programmes, because it's not part of the joint application. RADMEP is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree, i.e. it is a joint Master's programme between four universities. The application deadline for RADMEP is 8 February 2022 and the application is made through the University Jean Monnet application portal.
