Advance information: the Academy of Finland is planning a new call to support researchers from Ukraine

The new call by the Academy of Finland aims to support researchers at risk whose work in Ukraine has been prevented by Russia’s attack and who need physical protection to carry out their research.
The funding is applied for by a researcher based in Finland, and they must have secured a commitment from the site of research. The funding covers the invitee’s travel and living expenses in Finland, not the costs of the research work.
A similar call was last opened in February 2023. In that call, priority was given to applicants still in Ukraine. The main focus of the new call for applications will be to support researchers who have fled Ukraine and have already arrived in Finland or another country.
The call will be confirmed in June. More details will be made available on .
