Academic Sports autumn starts on 9 September – Now even more options for exercise

Exercise with your friends, colleagues or family

This year Academic Sports offers even more opportunities for physical exercise than before.

The U2 sports hall is open in weekends from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and you can play there badminton, also with a person from outside of the academic community. Saturday morning is reserved for users with a sports sticker and Sunday morning for the staff of JYU and JAMK.

On the last Thursday of each month, you can also try salsa with a partner. In salsa only other dancer needs to have the sports sticker. For more information on salsa, see

Campus jogging and AaltoAlvari discounts

Free campus jogging starts on Friday, 13 September at 7 from the campus athletics field in front of the U2 sports hall. Jogging takes place on four Fridays.

In AaltoAlvari, you can go to the gym and swim with €4.80 per visit on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3 p.m.–5 p.m. and on Saturdays at 10 a.m.–12. On workdays, swimming at 6 a.m.–10 a.m. costs €3.40. The benefit is available with the student or staff card.

 How to access sports classes and sessions?

The weekly schedule of Academic Sports includes classes and sessions on every day of the week. By buying a sports sticker you can also use the Monitoimitalo and Rentukka gyms. The sticker also includes , an online training app.

The sports sticker costs €60 for the whole academic year or €40 for the autumn term.

Free sports for the students of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥

The Liikunta gym is free with a valid student or staff card. The Academic Sports of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ also organises free sports classes related to studies (YLIY010 and YLY011).
