The energy saving measures include a one-degree reduction of the indoor temperature during the heating season 2022-2023 and the regulation of ventilation operating times, which can have a significant impact on energy use. These measures will only be taken in areas where their implementation has no impact on safety or research.

From 14 October, the saunas in the Liikunta building changing rooms will be available Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Fridays, the saunas will not be heated. Earlier the saunas were heated Monday-Friday from 12 to 8 p.m.

Take part in Energy Awareness Week!

The Energy Awareness Week will take place in all municipalities of Central Finland on 10–16 October 2022.

During the week, the citizens of Central Finland are challenged to participate in the energy saving campaign in workplaces, companies and schools. Also info sessions and events related to the theme will be arranged during the week.

Everyone is also encouraged to continue saving energy after the theme week. The energy saving campaign for the heating season encourages to make quick-acting and concrete energy saving actions. The goal is common for all at homes and in workplaces, schools and traffic. Determined actions and participation have now a great significance.

Energy actions include, for example, the following:

  • Lowering the room temperature
  • Taking quick showers
  • Using LED lamps
  • Eating climate-friendly food
  • Avoiding food waste
  • Buying recycled products and recycling your goods
  • Commuting by cycling or walking
  • Favouring public transport and car pooling
  • Monitoring energy consumption and avoiding consumption peaks
