Would you like to expand your networks? Would you like to get acquainted with a highly educated person from another country? Would you like to talk about job seeking and career planning in Finland? Sign up for a mentoring programme organized by JYU that starts in February 2024!
Mentoring is a collaborative relationship between an actor and a mentor. The objective is to provide support for learning and knowledge building as well as facilitate professional growth. The actor’s questions, interests and goals define the contents of mentoring, but engaging in this process is also a good learning opportunity for the mentors.
What is required of a mentor?
- Allocating time for meetings with the actor at least once a month for an 8-month period
- Being prepared to build a trusting relationship with the actor
- Having worked in Finland for a minimum of one year
- Being able to use Finnish with the actor, although other languages can also be used
In addition to a networking opportunity with an enthusiastic and talented international person, JYU provides training for mentors. The first training session will take place in September 2023.
