Policy-relevant economics and competitiveness of economy

Policy-relevant economics and competitiveness of economy is one of the three main areas of research at JSBE. The research is carried out in three research groups: Empirical Microeconomics, Jyväskylä International Macro & Finance, and Strategy & Entrepreneurship.

In the study of policy-relevant economics and competitiveness, JSBE focuses on human capital (education, health, labour) and competitiveness of economy (strategic behaviour of firms, institutions and functioning of product, labour and financial
markets). Our research is mostly empirical and it enhances our understanding of the behaviour of individuals and firms as well as the challenges of international finance in global economies.
