Basic Studies in Entrepreneurship (min. 20 ECTS)

What does it mean to be entrepreneurial? How could I productize my knowledge? Should I consider doing business in Asian markets? If you have questions such as these, you are warmly welcome to take part in our entrepreneurial studies! These studies are open for all students of our university! Pick individual courses or complete the whole basic studies - the choice is yours.

Introductory course: (compulsory for those, who want to complete the whole basic studies):

A basic course that introduces you to entrepreneurship from the individual’s, organization’s and society’s points of views. 

Optional (min. 15 ECTS for those, who want to complete the whole basic studies):

Team&Client Multidisciplinary Business Project, 3 - 6 ECTS

The Team&Client project course is a practically oriented study module during which you will join a multidisciplinary team that will carry out a development project for a real client.
 

Dreams+Inspiration! -course (3ECTS) inspires you about your own employment. In this course you may further study your own professional dreams and get inspired about a possibility of creating your own job in incrementally changing working life full of experts and entrepreneurs.

If you have a business you want to further develop into growth and internationalization, this is the right place for you. Coaching is organized in EduFutura Collaboration in Jyväskylä Startup Factory.

The idea of the course: first you select a suitable entrepreneurship related activity/event in which you will participate, then you will write a learning diary in which your reflect your learning experiences from participating in that particular activity/event.

Software start-ups frequently develop innovative products and grow rapidly under extremely uncertain conditions. Software startups are special since they have little or no operating history, lack any meaningful resources, operate under intense time pressure, and tackle dynamic and fast-growing markets. The academic goal of the course is to prepare students to work and succeed in such a dynamic environment and learn in practical terms how to set up and run a software startup.

Online course on working life, employment, and career skills develops students understanding of Finnish working life, both general and academic. In this course Career courses URAP002 Creating Careers, URAJ001 Creating Careers for doctoral students, and URAP001 Näkökulmia työllistymiseen are combined into a new self-study course.

The above mentioned courses are offered by the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ School of Business and Economics, Career Services, and the Faculty of Information Technology. Some of these courses are organized together in EduFutura  collaboration (JYU, JAMK and Gradia) And Jyväskylä Startup Factory. Do note that individual faculties do also have their own entrepreneurial courses.
