What does ability to study mean?

Ability to study means a student’s ability to work, and it is a combination of several interconnected factors. Strengths in one or more areas may help to maintain a student’s ability to study even when there are problems in other areas.

Personal resources, study skills, teaching and counselling, and a supportive study environment all have significant impacts on how well a student performs. Supporting student’s ability to study requires cooperation between all parties in the study community, including student healthcare, the university and student organisations – and the students themselves!

The model for ability to study is shown in picture below.

Student  Life - Wellbeing Support for Students

Student Life is a model developed at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ since 2009 to support study ability. Its core idea is that all members of the university staff participate in supporting the wellbeing of students. In student life activities, the principle is to provide guidance and assistance quickly and individually, as required by each student's situation.

The support provided by Student Life can be presented as a three-step model. Most students benefit from the first two steps (Basic support and Supplementary support). Third-step services provide students with enhanced and targeted support.

Basic services are available to all undergraduate and graduate students. Students apply for supplementary support on their own initiative. You can access the enhanced support via supplementary guidance. You will find Student Life -services from these pages.

Three-step Wellbeing Support Model

The uniqueness of our wellbeing support model lies in that we strive to provide innovative services that are being researched and assessed continuously at our University. This process ensures that students will receive support and guidance services which

  • have been carefully developed and evaluated for their effectiveness in promoting the overall wellbeing of students and
  • have been adapted and refined to fit students’ needs for learning as well as for personal, social, emotional growth, and development.
