Study plan and course registration for students in non-degree studies

In Sisu the use of the study calendar requires a study plan. Non-degree students are therefore required to create a study plan template, and add their planned courses to the study plan.

Table of contents

  1. In order to register for courses you need a study plan template.
  2. Log in to  with your university credentials.
  3. Create a personal study plan on the Structure of studies page. Choose the curriculum period based on the year you start your studies. (If you already have a study plan in Sisu, you can skip this step.)

If your study right has not been transferred to Sisu yet, you can create a plan for the non-degree education of your faculty beforehand by searching for the education by name from the All educations tab of the Create a new study plan window. The text notifying of the missing study right will disappear once the study right is transferred to Sisu. A missing study right does not prevent planning studies and adding courses to the study plan.

  1. Add any courses or modules your study right corresponds to into your personal study plan structure. If you have been granted a study right for a module (e.g. KTKPER, SKISYVERI, ITAAINERI), add it to your study plan as a module in order to have all of its contents added to your plan at once. This way you can also request a module evaluation once you have completed the required courses. If your study right corresponds to an individual course or courses (e.g. ITKP104, XKI0050), add these courses to your study plan individually. Adding your studies to the study plan is compulsory in order to get a grade from the course.
  2. Select the completion method:
    1. If the course is already in your Sisu study plan, click the blue course code to open the course brochure. You can select the completion methods on the Completion methods tab.
    2. If the course is not in your Sisu study plan yet, go to the Search page to search for the course. Add the course to your calendar on the Completion methods tab of the course’s info brochure. To get a grade for the course, remember to add the course in your study plan later - see step 3.
  3. Register for the course implementation on the Registration page or on the Enrolment calendar tab.
  4. Wait (and refresh the page if necessary) a minute or so after the registration to see if you can be selected for the course.
  5. After the registration period has ended, check if your registration was confirmed.
  6. If you registered through the Search page, remember to add the study unit to your study plan and choose a completion method in order to get a grade for the course.
  7. A more detailed, visual guide is on the Study calendar and course enrolment page. Guide for exam enrolment can be found on its own page.
