Quick guide to course registration

Degree students and exchange students.
- Log in to with your university user account and password.
- Create a study plan template on the Structure of studies page. Choose your curriculum period based on the year you started your studies unless instructed otherwise. Creating a template is enough at this point if your study guidance takes place later. However, you need to add all the courses you want to register for to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right to ensure getting a grade on time. If you already have a study plan in Sisu, you can skip this step.

Go to the Registration page. Select a course unit on the course you want to register for and proceed to select the completion method (teaching / exam). Then register at the bottom of the page. There is a blue “Register” button on the course if the registration is active. After that, check the study right and choose a study group if needed. Lastly verify your registration.
Alternative registration in the Study calendar: Choose the implementation you want to register for on the Registration tab of the calendar's selection assistant. Choose the study groups which fit your calendar. Then click the Register button at the bottom of the registration box.
- Wait (and refresh the page if necessary) a minute or so after registration to see if you can be selected for the course.
- After the registration period has ended, check if your registration was confirmed.
- If you registered through the Search page, remember to add the course unit to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right, and choose a completion method (teaching / exam) in order to get a grade for the course on time.

Non-degree students studying with a separate study right
- Log in to with your university user account and password.
- Create a personal study plan on the Structure of studies page. Add all the courses that you plan to complete to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right. If you already have a study plan in Sisu, you can skip this step. Study plan instructions for non-degree students can be found here.
- Add the course implementations to your calendar:
- If the course is already in your Sisu study plan, go the Study calendar. Add the course you want to register for on the Teaching not selected tab.
- If the course is not in your Sisu study plan yet, go to the Search page to search for the course. Add the course to your calendar on the Completion methods tab of the course’s info brochure. To get a grade for the course, remember to add the course to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right later.
- Register for the course on the Registration calendar tab.
- Wait (and refresh the page if necessary) a minute or so after registration to see if you can be selected for the course.
- After the registration period has ended, check if your registration was confirmed.
- If you registered through the Search page, remember to add the study unit to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right, and choose a completion method in order to get a grade for the course on time.

Doctoral students
- with your university user account and password.
- Create a study plan template on the Structure of studies page by choosing the education that corresponds to your doctoral study right on the My educations tab. The structure of the study plan may be different from the doctoral study plan that you have created when you applied for doctoral study right. It does not matter.
- Add all the courses you want to register for to your primary study plan that corresponds to your study right.
- Go to the Study calendar. To add the course you want to register for to your calendar, choose a completion method on the Teaching not selected tab and click Add.
- Register for the course implementation on the Registration tab.
- Wait (and refresh the page if necessary) a minute or so after the registration to see if you can be selected for the course.
- After the registration period has ended, check if your registration was confirmed.
- If you registered through the Search page, remember to add the course unit to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right, and choose a completion method in order to get a grade for the course on time.

eExam registration
- Log in to with your university user account and password.
- Create a study plan template in Sisu on the Structure of studies page. If you already have a study plan in Sisu, you can skip this step.
- Go to the course’s details either in the Study Calendar's Teaching not selected tab(if the course is in your study plan - primary route) or the Search page.
- Choose a completion method for the course on the Completion methods -tab of the course’s info brochure. If you register through the search page, remember to choose the correct completion method later by adding the course to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right.
- Add the eExam to your study calendar.
- Register for the course on the Registration tab of the Study calendar.
- Wait (and refresh the page if necessary) a minute or so after the registration to see if you can be selected for the exam.
- After your registration has been confirmed in Sisu, book a date for an eExam in the Exam sytem and take the exam on the date you booked.
- If you registered for the exam on the Search page, remember to add the course to your primary study plan corresponding to your study right, and choose a completion method (teaching / exam) in order to get a grade for the course on time.
