• Welcoming words. In addition to information on practicalities, you will also have a chance to meet the representative of JYY, the staff of the Student and Academic Services, and your fellow students.

Student Union JYY 10:00 - 10:30

• The Student Union of the Ģ��ֱ�� (JYY) attends to students’ interests and offers a wide range of social and recreational services.

Academic practices 10:30 - 11:00

• Examinations, grading, courses, credit system, degree structure etc.

LUNCH BREAK

Student housing Soihtu & KOAS 12:30 - 13:15

• Meet the representatives of Soihtu and KOAS accommodation offices and hear what you can expect from living in student apartment and, in turn, what is expected of you.

Course registration system Sisu 13:15 - 14:00

• Learn how to register for courses in the study data system Sisu. You can take your computer with you as you will get a step-by-step introduction

Adapting to a new cultural environment 14:00 - 14:30

• Understanding values, aims, and preoccupations can make your stay abroad a quality experience.

Personal Safety 14:30 - 15:00

• Security is the responsibility of the whole University community. Topics related to personal safety will be presented in this session.

COFFEE & TEA

Opening fair 10:30 - 11:30 at Agora (no online participation)

• The Student Union JYY and the University organize a traditional Opening Fair on Wednesday 27 August at the Agora building. There you can find hobby associations, JYY representative council groups and other associations as well as university partners. JYY, Ilokivi, and Soihtu will also be there with their own stands. At the Opening Fair, freshmen can pick up JYU backpacks, which hold valuable items for all new students both from the university and JYY. 
  
  A short introduction to JYY will be organized for new international students at the Opening Fair between 10:40 and 10:50.

• The Ģ��ֱ�� provides excellent sports facilities and services to all students.

Erasmus Student Network Jyväskylä 15:20 - 15:50

• ESN Jyväskylä is a local section of Erasmus Student Network (ESN), a non-profit international student organisation. ESN Jyväskylä provides quality free-time activities for all internationally minded students in Jyväskylä. Learn more what ESN Jyväskylä has to offer for students.
