• On the information security course, you will gain basic knowledge of information security actions in university studies. The information security course is mandatory for new students. Why?
• The goal of information security is to secure the operation of processes, functions, information systems, services and data networks that are important to the University's operation, and to prevent unauthorised use of information and information systems, as well as unintentional or intentional destruction or misuse of information.
•  Each university student is obliged to follow the given instructions. Everyone is responsible for the implementation of information security through their own actions, and by contributing to the practice and development of good information security culture. Each student is obliged to report detected or suspected data security deviations, deficiencies and violations via the HelpJYU portal.

Basic information security skills are considered part of the essential skills that should be acquired early on at the beginning of studies. This includes, for instance, the use of strong passwords.

You can complete the course even before starting your studies or at the latest during the first month after the start of your studies. The information security course is in Moodle, and in order to log in you need the University's username.
