Information of the Canon Print it -system
Printing and copying at the university is liable to charge. The university pays the student a quota of 5 euros per academic term. Regular degree students and students pursuing separate pedagogical studies are eligible for the student’s printing quota, if they present the receipt of the Student Union fee. International exchange students are eligible for the student’s printing quota without Student Union fee. Certificate of Registration will be enough for print quota.
If a student pays the fee for the whole academic year, he/she will be given a quota of 10 EUR. The sum is fed to the student’s personal print and copy account to be accessed with the student’s own user ID. Postgraduates and students pursuing supplementary studies shall pay for the copying and printing themselves, or negotiate on the procedure with their own department.
Canon multifunctional devices enable you to copy, print or scan – even in colour.
In order to use the device you have to register, that is to identify yourself .
You can do this with the student card or by entering your user ID and password, which are the same that you use in the university network.
When you use the Student card for the first time, you will be asked to register. Activate your card by giving your user ID and password using the keypad, after which you do not have to give codes anymore when logging into the system, just show your card to the reader.
When you print from your work station to the multiuse device, choose Jysecure printer. The document will be transferred to the server (for 24 hrs) waiting to be released from any Canon machine anywhere in the campus.
When you wish to release your document for print, register yourself in a way described in the previous chapter. After registering you will see your own job list from Secure Print and may release the print. In IT classes there are smaller Canon printers that are operated directly from the work stations, just choose the Jysecure printer and release your job with your registered copy key. Printer release all new print jobs immediately.
In normal use, the multiuse device is recommended.

Print balance (quota) sales for students
You can check your own print balance on your Canon All-In-One. When logging in to the device, the user can see their balance from the Secure Print option.
If, exceptionally, the print balance does not decrease at all (may occur after training or after working hours at the department), a support request should be made via the HelpJYU service (). Any temporary failure of the personal balance view does not relieve the user of any responsibility for costs - the actual balance will in any case be updated in the user's account at a later date and the user will be responsible for payment afterwards. Therefore, please ensure that the balance is up to date. The same applies to a negative balance. If you have been working at the department and then the balance goes negative (which it shouldn't), then contact the administrator.
Please also note that you cannot refund a purchased print balance (quota) or a quota allocated by the university in cash or transfer it to another account. The purchased balance is also non-refundable.
Students can only buy print balance (quota) for their account via this link from the . Otherwise, the product cannot be found in the online shop.
After the purchase, submit a receipt to the digital services using the . Please include the name of the person to whom the balance is going and attach a receipt for the purchase. The balance will be added to the account by the digital services during weekdays between 8 and 16. Please note that the balance will not appear on your account immediately. If you want the balance quickly, you can deliver the receipt to the digital services customer service point at the Lähde Library (3rd floor). The service desk is open on weekdays Mon-Fri. 10-14.
