In the future, businesses are increasingly likely to operate in conflict-affected areas, often characterised by instability, violence, and significant socioeconomic challenges. Join us to discuss how conflict preparedness can potentially help businesses operate in conflict-affected areas in the most responsible way possible.
The session will begin with a brief presentation outlining the common challenges businesses face in conflict-affected areas and introduce conflict preparedness as a potential framework that is designed to help businesses minimise their negative impact on conflicts while ensuring they are prepared to act responsibly during periods of instability. The second part of the session will focus on advancing the understanding of responsible business practices in conflict-affected areas. This segment will highlight some of the research gaps before transitioning into an informal discussion on how these gaps can potentially be addressed and further developed. This session also aims to provide a space for participants to connect and explore potential future research collaborations around the topic.
