Opening speech: Language of the community

Commonality, the sharing of something in common, is the foundation of every community. But the mere existence of things that unite people is not enough. Community is a living process that emerges and develops through communication and interaction. It takes the form of networks, shared stories and a common language, which connect community members to each other.

Campus tours  
The ³§±ð³¾¾±²Ô²¹²¹°ù¾±²Ô³¾Ã¤°ì¾± campus at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ is a protected, nationally significant cultural environment, where the history and stories of education meet the multi-faceted architecture.  Join us on a guided walking tour to explore the ³§±ð³¾¾±²Ô²¹²¹°ù¾±²Ô³¾Ã¤°ì¾± campus through history or architecture. NB: Only those tours will be organised for which there are enough registrations. 

Voice care workshop - Lighten your voice
In this voice care workshop, we will engage in vocal exercises with a light approach. The goal is to reduce muscle effort in voice production and explore a more effortless way to use your voice. The exercises combine gentle movement with vocalization. Come lighten your voice—and your overall well-being! The workshop can be held in English, when needed.

Singing bowl relaxation 
Come and breathe, recover and refresh in a holistic singing bowl relaxation session in the atmospheric Ryhtilä building. No Finnish language skills are required. 

Multilingualism in the work community

Artificial intelligence for Language Campus members

• Ethical AI? Jenny Tarvainen and Pasi Hämäläinen  
  The workshop will present various ethical aspects to be considered at work as well as the responsible use of AI in the language field.  

• DD-Lang project: Designing an AI-based tool for developing reading comprehension. Ari Huhta, Dmitri Leontjev, Kristina Koskela and Vera Vesala  
  We report on the DD-LANG project (funded by the Academy of Finland) which has developed a way to support upper secondary school students' English reading comprehension through online exercises. The approach combines diagnostic and dynamic assessment with a chatbot that allows students to get personal feedback on each exercise.
