We warmly invite everyone working and studying at JYU, as well as any other interested parties, to participate in the JYU.Wisdom Forum.

This event offers you an opportunity to learn more about JYU.Wisdom and ways to engage with its research, education and societal impact activities. You’re also invited (but not obliged) to share your insights and ideas about the activities.

The programme includes short presentations and related discussion. The event culminates to an Oratio sapientiam celebrans by Associate Professor Nerea Abrego Antia. The title of her speech is "Why basic biodiversity research is needed in the era of mass extinctions."

At the end of the event, festive drinks will be served.

After the Forum, the JYU.Wisdom community will have a small spring & housewarming party. Registration instructions have been shared on the JYU.Wisdom mailing list – if you haven’t received the info but would like to join, please contact the coordinator Helmi.

Planetary well-being and JYU.Wisdom

The JYU School of Resource Wisdom (JYU.Wisdom) community’s mission is to advance planetary well-being. Our multidisciplinary planetary well-being research is one of JYU’s recognized thematic research profiling areas, and the goal of achieving planetary well-being has been adopted into the JYU strategy.

Planetary well-being considers the well-being of all life. At its heart is the understanding that life on Earth consists of interlinked and interdependent systems, and that unimpaired Earth system and ecosystem processes are essential for meeting the needs of both humans and the rest of nature, now and in the future.
