Welcome to Jyväskylä! 

Computational chemistry days is an annual event showcasing Finnish computational chemistry research. The event provides an opportunity for students and young researchers in the field to network and present their work. 

This year will be the 7th installment of the event, and the second time it is held in Jyväskylä. 

The themes for this year are 

  • Catalysis and materials
  • Machine learning
  • Biomolecules and soft matter

Coffee breaks: Coffee, tea, and chocolates will be served during coffee breaks. 

Lunch break: Lunch is self-funded, closest restaurants and cafes are on campus (see here: /en/cafes-and-restaurants-on-campus), but the venue is also close by to the city center. 

Poster session: Drinks and small snacks are served during the poster session. Note that the poster session is in the main building! ()

Contributions

Oral presentations 

The time slot for oral presentations is 20 minutes including discussions (15 min presentation + 5 min discussion). Presentations by PhD students and  Postdocs are prioritized. Invited speakers have 30 minutes including discussion.  

Poster session 

Posters should be A0 in size. The poster session is held at 17-19 on the first day.

A prize will be awarded for the best poster chosen by popular vote!

Instructions for abstract submission

Abstract submissions are accepted only electronically via the registration form. The abstract and registration deadline has been extended until April 22! The final date to submit your abstract is April 15.

Acceptance is based on evaluation by the organising committee, and participants will be notified by email on May 3

All accepted abstracts will be published as an electronic book of abstracts. 

Word and LaTEX templates are available for download below. The templates must be followed for the abstract to be considered for oral or poster presentation. Submission of the abstract requires conversion of the final document to PDF format. The registration form will not accept any other file format. Abstracts are limited to one page and maximum file size is 20 Mt.
