1st Lapland Financial Institutions Summit (LFIS) will be held on March 20-21, 2025 Levi Summit, Levi (Kittilä), Lapland, Finland. The LFIS summit is organized by Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics.

The objective of this boutique conference is to present state-of-the-art academic research on topics related to Financial Institutions. There will be one track of presentations for two days. The relatively small scale and exotic location of the conference will not only provide an environment for in-depth discussions, but also an opportunity to enjoy winter activities in beautiful scenery, and with some luck, a possibility to see Aurora Borealis.

We welcome submissions from all areas related to functioning of financial institutions. Complete papers in an early stage will also be considered. Empirical, theoretical, and experimental papers are all welcome. Sample topics on financial Institutions include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial intermediation, regulation
  • Banking, financial institutions
  • Financial market stability
  • Financial market risks, financial distress
  • Macroprudential topics and financial institutions
  • Global and climate, biodiversity risks, sustainability in banking and financial market

Sister Conferences

The Lapland Household Finance Summit is organized on March 18-19 and the Lapland Investment Fund Summit on March 19-20 in conjuction with the LFIS 2025. The three conferences have overlapping non-academic program.
