Reserving the MEG laboratory

Before anything else, apply for a research permission by contacting cibr-info@jyu.fi or Tiina Parviainen. After granting a research permission, Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research gives user rights to the "Meg Lab" calendar in . Log in with your username and password (Haka for JYU users). Find a free time slot and make your reservation.

Instructions for using the Infrabooking system can be found within the system after logging in.

Guidelines

Make sure you reserve enough time for preparation.
If you want to make reservation outside 9–17, please contact the CIBR technical support.
The reservation title line should always include the name of the project.
The line should also be marked by the text “pilot” in the case of technical testing or pilots.
The line should also be marked by "preliminary" or "confirmed" in the case of actual research, depending on whether you are only planning to have a measurement or have actually confirmed your participant.

Unless stated otherwise via the internal messaging of JYU MEG users, each project can reserve 3 full days (which can be divided into half days) of measurement time per calendar month. 1 measurement day = 8 hours unless otherwise agreed with the MEG personnel. 10 hours of total lab time per day and/or total 40 hours per week should not be normally exceeded due to helium recycling. So, please discuss extended measurement days or weeks beforehand with the MEG personnel.

At any given time, you can reserve any free time slot two weeks in advance at maximum. All reserved time slots (excluding pilots) should have an agreed participant. This means that all the time slots should be reserved according to real, agreed measurements. For making measurement reservations, it is possible to hold on to the reserved time slots for two to three days. How far in the future projects can make reservations should be discussed with the MEG personnel.
