Announcement of the third ASTRA summer school in Brixen
We are hours away from the 3rd ASTRA summer school, which will take place in the Free University of Bolzano (Bressanone Campus), organized by Prof. Susanne Elsen and in collaboration with Michael Emru Tadesse, Vesna Leskošek and Anu Kettunen from 5 to 16 June 2023.
The 15 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) and their supervisors, representing the Marie-Skłodowska-Curie European Innovative Training Network's ASTRA project, will be gathered once more for a summer school under the title “The future of the biosphere: deepening the understanding and communication of the interconnectivity of ecological, economic and social sustainability transition.
Continuing their journey toward approaches of Transdisciplinary Sustainability Transition Research, policies, and practices in Social Work to tackle the major societal challenge of social inclusion, ESRs and representatives from all partners of the Network will be gathered in Brixen to discuss and exchange. In the next two weeks of ASTRA summer school, the researchers will have the opportunity to present their work so far to a broad and diverse audience and get feedback from their colleagues and supervisors.
On the road to the final ASTRA Conference in 2024 in Jyvaskyla, Finland, this third and last summer school of the ASTRA programme will be learning and knowledge sharing experience through lectures, presentations of the work of ESRs so far, discussion panels and round tables, and field visits, where social work and sustainability come together.Brixen ASTRA summer school will host presentations from eminent international scholars and lectures as guest speakers, such as Dr. Walter Lorenz, Reiner Braun, Dr. Franklin Obeng Odoom, dr. Franca Zadra and Dr. Frank Moulaert. There will also be guest from the leading international non-governmental organizations such as Freek Spinnewijn form Feantsa and Pietilä-Litendahl from ODL.The lectures and discussions will focus on contemporary and popular issues of transdisciplinary social work, such as:
