The course focuses on digital services and innovation research. More specifically, we look at the conceptualization of digital service and how this links to the study of digital innovations in organizations. For this purpose, we apply service (dominant) logic conceptualization of service as a foundation for the course. Furthermore, we look at understanding the different facets digital innovation, how this link digitalization of services, and eventually how organizations can continuously innovate digital services in digital platform and ecosystem setting. Finally, we look at how we can move from digitalization to cybernization of services. The course has the goal to critically study, apply and evaluate literature and theories on a variety of key research topics in digital service and innovation. The idea is to give you an understanding about contemporary service research in selected areas and prepare you to conduct your own future research.
