Faculty of Mathematics and Science Erasmus+ destinations
Here is a list of all Erasmus destinations available through the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. As you can see, there are many options, so it’s important to consider which courses you would like to take during your exchange, as well as your existing background knowledge. Most students are accepted to their first-choice destination. However, keep in mind that the number of available scholarships may limit the options.
Most destinations offer courses in English at the Master’s (2nd cycle) level, with only a few offering courses at the Bachelor’s (1st cycle) level. Some universities also accept PhD students as exchange participants. The courses available to you will depend on the regulations of the destination university, and they may differ from those offered at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥.
We recommend discussing your course options with your study counselor and adding them to your study plan in SISU as a "study draft."
How to choose your destination?
Every student has their own idea of what to study abroad, and in our faculty, there are many options to choose from. Many students begin by considering destinations from their own perspective. First, explore the available options, then visit the websites of the universities to learn more about how the academic year is organized and what courses they offer. After that, reflect on which destination would be the best fit for you.
Once you have a few options in mind, you can contact the International Coordinator to discuss your ideas further. Don’t forget to also consult with your study counselor (HOPS-ohjaaja) and add the courses you would like to take to SISU as a "study draft."
Keep in mind that you can complete your Master's or Bachelor's thesis abroad, or undertake practical training. There are also destinations that offer only these types of exchange opportunities.
Be sure to check the language requirements of each destination as well.
Austria

Remember to specify in your Mobility Online application which program you prefer, as we need to nominate you for that specific program. It might be difficult to take courses from different programs due to potential timetable conflicts.

It seems that many courses are offered in English, but remember that not all courses may be available when you start. It’s a good idea to have a Plan B.

There are also internship options! This university works closely with a nearby medical sciences university, which could provide opportunities to work in research groups conducting research in medical sciences.
At the Bachelor’s level, there are no courses in English in the areas of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. However, there may be opportunities for work placements, research group training, or internships.
An interesting Master’s level program is the Bioinformatics MSc (ITK.PPKE.HU), fully delivered in English, combining biology and computer science.
The academic year differs from the academic year at JYU. The autumn term starts at the beginning of September and ends before Christmas, but the exam period is in January and February.
The university is located in Budapest, Hungary, and finding accommodation might not be easy.
