Students learn the basic principles of the central nervous system structure and function. After the course they understand the functional architecture of the brain from cellular to the system -level.

Lectures and literature

The lecture series will consist of lectures going through the central nervous system anatomy and physiology, from the smallest units (intracellular molecular signaling and cellular physiology) up to the system level functions. Emphasis will be on fundamental mechanisms rather than higher level functions.
