Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students are able to:
- plan studies and set personal goals and principles for the assessment of one’s own learning
- produce an individualized study plan. Get acquainted with the modes of study
- be able to use the electronic learning environment (Optima), the electronic Korppi data system, and the library resources

Study methods

Lectures which include e.g. study plan (e-hops) training, discussions, group work, individual counseling and the completion of student’s own personal study/learning plan. One day participation to LTKY018 Introduction to Sport and Health Sciences, a laboratory tour.
Active participation in required meetings (1hr/student/semester) seminars (4 hrs/semester).

Content

Introduction to the Faculty of Sport and Health sciences, the degree programme and its components, e.g. the variety of possible study plans, modes of teaching and learning, and support systems.
