ECOS1080 Applications of genetics (5 cr)
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
-find answers to challenging questions related to ecological, evolutionary or conservation genetics, by narrowing down the question into parts that can be more easily addressed;
-learns to work in a group and devise approaches to achieve the set targets;
-can describe the principles of scientific research and is able to participate in planning scientific projects.

Content
In the workshop the students will deal with timely questions that require genetic know-how. The students will choose the problem/question by themselves, split it into smaller questions and work together when searching for answers to the questions. Finally, the students write a report in the form of a review-article, newspaper article, presentation or poster.

Peer and Self evaluation; Report in the form of a review-article, newspaper article, presentation or poster (chosen by the participants).

2nd year master's students.
