Learning outcomes
On completion of this course the student will be able to
- identify and describe major trends in theorizing communication
- critically analyze and evaluate communication theories
- relate theory to day to day communication activities.

Content
Students will gain a comprehensive view of communication theory. The focus is on various theories of communication. Students will be familiar with theories from a social scientific, interpretive, and critical/cultural perspective.

Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments in line with stated learning outcomes. An 80% attendance requirement is applied.
