On completion of this course the student will be able to
- understand intergroup communication as a field of study
- know relevant intergroup processes and how they have been theorized
- understand the value of intergroup diversity in society
- identify social issues in society related to intergroup processes.
- apply intergroup theories to analyzing everyday interaction.

Content
The aim of this course is to introduce the student to intergroup processes and theories that explain the extent to which social interaction and attitudes is influenced by group membership and identity.

Assessment criteria
Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments in line with stated learning outcomes. An 80% attendance requirement is applied.
