EKIS311 Multilingual Learning Environments (5 op)
Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course students will be able to
- explain the central concepts related to multilingualism and categorizations of languages,
- reflect on the consequences of multilingualism to individuals and societies, esp. in relation to language education,
-understand and reflect upon today鈥檚 linguistic environments from the point of view of language learning and teaching, especially considering the role of English as a lingua franca,
- discuss how multilingualism shows in an English as a foreign language classroom in Finland, and
- carry out a small scale study on one of the aspects discussed in the course.
